I don’t know about all the excessive hateration of “Enough Said” but, GN$F! is feeling the song by its self-appointed Executive Producer, Drake. Aaliyah’s former producers, Missy Elliot and Timbaland seem to be throwing shade on Drake working on her posthumous album.
Timbaland told Power 105.1, “I know they trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if he do it, it should be with me and Missy. The proper way for him to do that would be for me, him and Missy to be all on the record. But to put it on his record, would just not be right.”
Okay? But who’s to say Aaliyah would still be working with them? It was only a matter of time that she would work with other producers – all GREAT artists do. And another question is why didn’t the Virginia producers hop on this project long ago before Drake? I smell the jealousy of producers who have long since been away from Hip-Hop who don’t like a young artist like Drake to pay his homage to Aaliyah, someone he publicly adores and respects. Plus, c’mon there is no loyalty in the music industry.
There was another comment made by Timbaland to E! News that had the odor of R. Kelly-yuck-statutory-rape. He admitted, “When I first met Aaliyah—it time for the world to hear this, I’m gonna give a little secret—I was in love with her,” he told E!. “I said, But I’m not…She just a baby, I’m old. I said to myself, ‘I’m just gonna be her brother.’ Oh man, I was fightin’, I was fightin’ a lot—a big war. But I loved Aaliyah.”
GN$F! looks forward to hearing the rest of the album, which will be presented as Aaliyah featuring Drake, “Enough Said” includes never-before-heard vocals from the late singer. The artwork for the album features both the logo of Drake’s label, October’s Very Own, and Blackground Records, with whom Aaliyah was signed, noted MissInfo.tv.
