GNSF! 5 Reasons Why I Love R&B Divas L.A.

I have a confession I watch reality TV. They all end up annoying the hell out of me one way or another, but only one has my loyalty: “R&B Divas: L.A.” on TVone. I thought the Atlanta franchise had me hooked — only to disappoint from all their volatile ratchetness, but L.A.’s is way more authentic and I love seeing these immensely talented women have that ready-to-work together attitude. Plus, they’re all real mothers (except Price) who have a hands-on role in their kids life. It’s redeeming to watch them tackle the challenge of climbing back into Hollywood’s embrace of favor.

Wednesday was the debut of “Part One: The Reunion,” you know ‘debut’ as in, before they start re-running the hell out of it, like they do with every reality TV show. The perfect choice to host was none other than ‘How you doing?’ Wendy Williams, and she really brought it with all the straight-up-no-chaser questions you can think of. And the best part, they answered. I felt Kelly Price came to the reunion with a damage control vibe — she really thinks she can fool us with ‘I’m a nice girl’ act? They even talk about child support, being homeless, and the heater: Is Kenny Lattimore gay? Uh-Oh!!

5 Reasons why I love R&B Divas: L.A.

  1. You can hear Michel’le’s voice, which was a bit distracting at first, but it eventually subsides when you hear her ‘sang’ and spill juicy details about her elusive baby daddies, Suge Knight and Dr. Dre.

  2. Lil Mo gets to comeback. I really don’t know why she left the game in the first place. But, I need thee around-the-way girl to comeback correctly to save R&B/Rap collabs from Miley Cyrus.

  3. Getting to see another non-profit-I-Am-Saved-Holier-Than-Thou celebrity get slapped by reality … whom I talk about? Kelly Price. Plus, her terrible wigs and weaves remind of what to never look like.

  4. Seeing Claudette Ortiz unearth her fierceness for the first-time is really powerful.

  5. And finally Chante Moore shows you how-to-be a R&B Diva. She’s the epitome of the show, where Lil Mo is the rhyme and reason.

I know I left out Dawn Robinson, but what the hell it’s like she was never a part of the show by not showing up to the reunion. She’s too safe and too scared. I hope Robinson spills the beans soon enough, though.
