WTFlocka?! According to organization Life Always, “The most dangerous place for an African-American is in the womb”?! Really? According to the news we watch daily the most dangerous place is anywhere near a jaded police officer, judge, or on the corner in some hood wearing the wrong colors.
“The billboard was offensive, especially during Black History Month,” the Rev. Al Sharpton said.
Bowing to heavy pressure, Lamar Advertising Co. agreed to pull the ad above Sixth Ave. and Watts St., Soho.
The ad came to a surprise to the poster child’s mother, Tricia Fraser. “I want an apology,” Fraser, 36, told the Daily News. “I’m happy that it’s [being taken down], but at the same time I’m concerned that they can use that image again.” Her daughter had posed for a stock photography company, so she never really knew how the images would be used.
Texas-based Life Always said it aimed to raise public awareness of Planned Parenthood’s “targeting of minority neighborhoods.” The pro-life organization claims their goal was to spark conversation during Black History month.
