Eminem and Dr. Dre are hip-hop’s quintessential bromance. Most rappers wish they could have a solid creative relationship like these two. The legendary west coast beatmaker and Detroit’s 8 Mile poster child have created the most successful hits in hip-hop history.
It was when Jimmy Iovine sent Dr. Dre Eminem’s tape back in 1997 that a musical dynasty was birthed. After being signed to Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records in 1998, Eminem released his first major studio album, The Slim Shady LP. The album was heavily based on the Dr. Dre’s beatmaking production One year later in 1999. Billboard praised the album as “light years ahead of the material he had been writing beforehand”.
