John Galliano, the unabashed drunken designer said, “I love Hitler and people like you would be dead today. Your mothers, your forefathers, would all be f…ing gassed and f…ing dead,”
WTFlocka?! You never know who you are really working with until they caught getting too comfortable in their drunken wealth. Natalie Portman and Dior just found out they were working with an anti-Jew. John Galliano, who holds one of the most coveted positions in the fashion industry at Christian Dior, threw inebriated anti-Jewish slurs to Geraldine Bloch, 35, and Philippe Virgitti, 41, and it was all caught on camera back in January at La Perle Bar.
The video wasn’t released ’til the ladies found out Galliano had been arrested in Paris for anti-semitic remarks at the same bar that they were insulted at. Galliano is facing a trial for voicing insults of a racist nature in public – an offense that carries a maximum sentence of six months in prison and a fine of euros 22,500 or $31,000
The face of Dior and 2011’s Best Actress winner, Natalie Portman voiced her refusal to work with Galliano and Dior and even threatened to walk away from her contract. She feels betrayed because she had work so closely with him.
“I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments,” Portman said. “In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.”
The Dior house made an immediate termination of John Galliano. The disgraced designer claims he’s not racist.
Sidney Toledano, the chief executive of Dior Couture, who is from an eminent Jewish family, said: “I very firmly condemn what was said by John Galliano, which totally contradicts the values which have always been defended by Christian Dior.”
