WTFlocka?!!! Kicking, stomping, fist-beatdowns, and getting ran down by squad car, is what the Protect and Serve Houston Police five officers gave to a suspected burglar teenage boy, mind you the boy had already surrendered. The graphic video was first released by activist Quannel X Wednesday via Houston’s ABC 13. Houston Mayor, Annise Parker responded to ABC 13 saying they were irresponsible for releasing the video and that Quannel X should be prosecuted? The next day Mayor Parker attempted to clean up her harsh commentary due to fatigue. Too late sister, you stank of racism the first time. And it stinks the second time.
Attorney Wilvin Carter told CNN’s Don Lemon that this is a symptom of the systematic brutality that goes on in the Houston Police Department. He also said, “I was shocked and appalled. It just reminded me of the 60’s. When I grew up it was lawlessness. It looks like these individuals were actually attacking him because of his race and want to administer punishment.”
Rep. Al Green, D-Houston, announced his decision during a news conference Monday, “Because justice demands it and because I believe it’s the right thing to do, I will ask the Justice Department to investigate all aspects of the circumstances surrounding the Chad Holley apprehension,” said Green. “This is really about justice for all, if we’re to truly have justice for every one of us we have to have justice for any one of us.”
Twelve officers were disciplined in the incident and four were indicted on charges of official oppression.
The teenage boy, Holley, now 16, is a minor is being reprimanded for engaging in delinquent conduct and his attorney is for an appeal and request for an internal investigation for police misconduct not only on this case but on behalf of all his other clients who have been violated by the law.
Houston Police Chief’s response? “I have already taken disciplinary action and will have no further comment until the case is abjudicated and or appealed.”
