Canibus got word from cyberspace about DJ Premier telling VladTv.com that Canibus had actually rejected the Devil’s Pie beat, y’know the song that D’Angelo rocked dissing hip-hop’s materialism?
The rapper didn’t like the interview, maybe because it made Canibus look arrogant to pass on a dope track a-la-Primo. So instead of letting it slide, Canibus had to keep it real and create a drawn-out seven minute and fifty-four seconds diss track airing his side of the story on why he had to pass on the track. He cited that it was Premier who was late to recording sessions. Therefore, placing blame on Primo for the reason why they didn’t work together.
Premier explains to DJ Vlad how Canibus was a difficult client to work with. “We had a little run-in but it was a minor. He said, ‘I just feel like you don’t understand the vision what I’m trying to bring out.’ I gave the check back to Universal and they appreciate that I took it that seriously.”

Canibus went on Facebook begging:
“I’m beggin’ you Preem. Don’t let these spineless magazine writers and fake ass journalists frame the pictures wrong and divide us. I ALWAYS treated you with respect and loyalty. Take 5mins and look at the videos of the shows on my reverb page where I big you & Guru up and listen to the interviews where I spoke on what you mean to me …and HIP HOP. If you really felt that way then why did you say that on camera instead of hollerin’ at me? If you can’t understand why I would be confused by your interview with Vladtv then I don’t know what to tell you. I never knew you felt like that fam. Word. They running with it and it’s not a good look. please turn it around for Hip Hop. I been trynna’ pull the stick up for 3 days now. I’m gonna’ crash Preem.”
WTFlocka?! Canibus, you can’t flip-flop within days expect us to believe really its the news outlets that are causing the friction between you two. You deliberately made a 7:53 minute track blaming things on DJ Premier instead of talking with dude one-on-one. Hope you two work it out.
